how as part of it we are called to participate in its growth and wellbeing.
CHALLENGE
Allow the Holy Spirit to create a conviction in you to be part of, to be a member of, to get to know and serve others, by making every effort to participate in Sunday services, Midweek classes, Community Group gatherings and Bible studies sharing your faith with others.
Mateo 5:14-16
Our purpose with the church’s
A) We are the light of the world.
B) Jesus calls us to be people of integrity.
C) Through your example, others will draw closer to God.
Efesios 2:19-22
A) The church is the family of God.
B) Our relationships form a family.
C) Its foundation is the teaching of the apostles and the prophets (N.T. and O.T. = The Bible).
Efesios 4:4-6
A) There is one body = there is one church.
B) Plus one Spirit, one Hope, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God = 7 foundations of the faith.
C) The biblical church is defined by sound salvation doctrine and by lifestyle.
D) Those who follow the correct doctrine of salvation are members of the church.
E) Salvation is not exclusive to one denomination.
Colosenses 1:15-18
A) The word “church” appears 75 times in the N.T. and its meaning is assembly or congregation.
B) Tradition has taught us that the church is a building, but the Bible teaches us that it is the people.
C) This is very important: it is the body of Christ! (v. 18).
D) This is not a social matter, it is God’s plan!
E) Jesus is the head, He is the one who governs it.
1 Pedro 2:4-5, 9
A) We are living stones in God’s spiritual building, which is the church.
B) We are a spiritual temple and a holy priesthood.
C) We are called to offer spiritual sacrifices:
a.- Rom 12:1. A life dedicated to God.
b.- Heb 13:15. Praise.
c.- Heb 13:16. Doing good and helping those in need.
d.- Rev 8:3-4. The prayers of the church.
D) We are called to proclaim the message (v. 9).
E) God expects active participation, not passive!
